If you can’t make the last free session for the summer, never fear, our regular weekly sessions begin on Thursday 2nd September 2021.
Many of us find good quality, restorative sleep evades us and the effects of sleep deprivation are well documented. These include feeling grumpy or finding it difficult to concentrate after a disturbed night. But long term poor sleep is also linked to significant medical conditions such as obesity and diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure.
All sleep is not equal and, as well as the number of hours we sleep, the timing and quality of our sleep varies. The benefits of sleep depend on our ability to access deep, restorative, REM sleep and many things can conspire against us to impact upon this.
Our sleep can also vary with the time of year, weather, our age or lifestyle and mental and emotional pressures.
Although this all sounds a little daunting, there is much we can do to help improve our sleep patterns and get a better night’s sleep. How wonderful would it feel to wake refreshed and restored and raring to go into a new day?!
